Magnetic Topology Diagnostics and the Slow Solar Wind
Abstract
In a 3D MHD simulation of the solar corona, we advect two magnetic bipoles into and out of a coronal hole. This causes a complex reconfiguration of the magnetic field, with field lines that open up, close down, or undergo interchange reconnection. We examine magnetic topology diagnostics and look for indications of slow wind formation.
