The Influence of Rotation on the Pulsation Spectra of B-stars
Abstract
B stars are known to oscillate in both radial and non-radial modes. Rotation may play an important role in altering the pulsation spectra of these stars. The results of 2D model calculations of rapidly rotating early B-stars is presented and used to examine the frequency spectrum of a Kepler B-star. The reduction procedure to determine stellar pulsation spectra using Kepler data sets is discussed, as well as the need for additional observational data to constrain the B-star spherical harmonic l and m values.
