Comparison of One-dimensional Hydrodynamic Codes and Analytical Models for Time- Dependent Heating
Abstract
Numerous coronal heating theories have suggested that the heating in the corona is highly dynamic and strongly time-dependent. One method of investigating the coronal heating problem is to compare observations to solutions of the one-dimensional hydrodynamic equations. Because the numerical simulations are computationally intensive, there are also analytical models that describe the evolution of the plasma that has been heated dynamically. In this poster, we present a comparison of numerical simulations and analytical models for a limited number of dynamic heating functions.
