A model for pulsations in roAp stars
Abstract
The oblique pulsator model accounts for most of the pulsation properties of the rapidly oscillating Ap (roAp) stars. It also yields predictions for observables, from which constraints on the magnetic field may be derived. The observables are relative amplitudes within multiplets in frequency spectra corresponding to individual eigenmodes. Here we propose improvements of the oblique pulsator model which consist in including effects of centrifugal distortion of the star, and using a non-perturbative treatment of the magnetic field.
