Solar Active Regions: Ephemeral
Abstract
Magnetic flux emerges through the surface of the Sun as bipolar regions with a wide range of sizes, such as shown in figure 1. Larger magnetic bipoles develop SUNSPOTS and are identified as ACTIVE REGIONS.
