Spectroscopic observatioons of sixteen BL Lacertae candidates.
Abstract
We have made spectroscopic observations of sixteen candidate BL Lacertae objects. Eleven of them have been confirmed; one turned out to be a star, two QSOs and two emission line radio-galaxies. Among the five discarded objects, one is a highly polarized quasar; the four others were unlikely to be blazars because they are either radio-quiet or steep spectrum radio-sources.
