Modelling of open and closed coronal structures - Comparison with detailed EUV observations
Abstract
We consider the modelling and EUV diagnostics of plasma in steady state motion both within closed coronal structures (siphon flows) and outflowing from coronal holes toward interplanetary space. We take into account nonequilibrium ionization in the synthesis of emission lines originating from the modelled closed structures and compare the computed line intensities with detailed EUV observations, in order to constrain significantly the model. We evaluate the importance of nonequilibrium ionizations effects for some published coronal hole models.
