L'héliosismologie ou l'exploration des profondeurs solaires.
Abstract
It is pointed out that helioseismology has made it possible to refine the existing model of the solar internal structure. It has also been used to study interior movements of the sun, which are important for understanding the solar cycle. By making it possible to test models of the solar interior, helioseismology also contributes to solving various problems of basic physics, including the question of the state of matter at high temperature and pressure, the nature of neutrinos, and the existence of hypothetical massive particles which may be of considerable cosmological significance.
