The form of the irregularity spectrum of the high-latitude ionosphere
Abstract
The spectral characteristics of electron-density irregularities in the auroral ionosphere were investigated by a radio-occultation technique using satellite signals at frequencies of 150 and 400 MHz. It is shown that, in the direction of the geomagnetic field, the irregularity spectrum has a cutoff scale equal to 1-3. On the average, the irregularity spectrum in a wide range of scales is of power type.
