Dynamo Processes in Stars
Abstract
Present understanding of stellar dynamo processes is reviewed. The observational constraints are described, and the basic physical processes of helicity and differential rotation that lead to dynamo action are outlined, stressing the importance of recent helioseismological results. Mean field dynamo theory and nonlinear dynamo waves are discussed.
