Development of interpretive features for mapped elements of the lunar surface
Abstract
A principle for the classification of objects on the lunar surface has been established, and a unified system of conventional features has been developed which can be used for the interpretation and compilation of maps of the lunar surface. The broad features considered are: (1) craters and ring structures, (2) surface types, and (3) tectonic and fault forms.
