The GOLF helioseismometer on board SOHO.
Abstract
The authors present the GOLF (Global Oscillations at Low Frequencies) investigation that was recently accepted on board the SOHO satellite of the ESA/NASA Solar Terrestrial Science Programme. The GOLF instrument is an improved version of ground based instruments using the resonant-scattering spectrometric technique to measure global velocities of the Sun and Stars. It has the unique capability of a 4 points measurement in the line profile for both the global velocity and magnetic field measurements.
