High pressure X-ray investigations on 3C-SiC
Abstract
The pressure dependence of the lattice constant of 3C-SiC (zincblende structure) has been investigated in a gasketed diamond anvil cell up to 25 GPa. A standard energy dispersive X-ray diffraction technique was used to obtain the d-spacings. From the measured data we have obtained the pressure- volume relation, the bulk modulus B o = 248(9) gPa, and its pressure derivative B 1o = {dB o}/{dp} = 4.0(3)
