Frequency characteristics of a ring laser with a kinematic pedestal
Abstract
The characteristics of a solid-state ring laser with kinematic modulation of the resonator length are investigated theoretically and experimentally. With reference to results obtained for a continuous-wave YAG:Nd(3+) laser (wavelength, 1.06 micron), it is shown that the observed frequency characteristics of the laser can be explained only by taking into account the combined effect of the sign-varying frequency pedestal and modulation of the coupling of the counterpropagating waves.
