Detection of solar gravity mode oscillations.
Abstract
An analysis of solar velocity data obtained at the Stanford Solar Observatory has shown the existence of solar global oscillations. The oscillations are in the range 45 to 105 μHz (160 to 370 minutes) and are interpreted as internal gravity modes of degree l = 1 and l = 2.
