High-resolution solar spectroscopy with double-pass monochromators
Abstract
The basic characteristics of double-pass monochromators for high-resolution solar spectroscopy are presented. Consideration is given to the determining influence of the intermediate slit on the wings of the apparatus function in the high-resolution registration of absorption line profiles. The double diffraction technique is described, and formulas for the apparatus function are presented. The principal errors of double-pass solar spectrometer are analyzed, and some suggestions concerning the adjustment of the device are given.
