Dynamic Green's functions for layered media and applications to boundary-value problems
Abstract
A method to calculate the three-dimensional dynamic Green's functions for layered viscoelastic media is developed. The formulation of the method and the subsequent application to problems in theoretical seismology are presented. The formulation of an integral equation approach involving the Green's functions used to study boundary value problems and the subsequent application to problems in earthquake engineering are discussed.
