Observations of interstellar HC5N and HC7N in dark dust clouds.
Abstract
Summary. The J = 9 8 transition of cyanodiacetylene has been mapped in emission in the source TMC2, with a 2.3-arcmin beam. The source has an angular extent 3 x 4 arcmin, similar to that of the NH3 source. The J = 22 21 transition of interstellar HC7N has been detected in Heiles 2 and TMC2. The relative abundances of HC5N and HC7N appear to be similar in both Heiles 2 and TMC2.
