The calculation of particle cluster motions in fluid flow fields
Abstract
Mathematical models of two-phase flows are considered and a description of a two-phase model is provided. An investigation is conducted concerning the drag in the case of particles in a cluster. The derived drag relations are based on results reported by Andersson (1961). The consideration of random particle and fluid motions is also discussed. Random stochastic motions of both phases can occur in connection with flow turbulence, collisions between particles, and collisions between particles and container walls.
