Spectral radiometric measurement of atmospheric constituents.
Abstract
Balloon-borne and aircraft-borne scanning grating monochromator radiometers operated at liquid nitrogen and liquid helium temperatures have been used to measure vertical profiles of atmospheric trace constituents (CO, N2O, HNO3, fluorocarbons, etc.). Samples of measured emission spectra and derived vertical profiles are presented, and the optical properties of the radiometers are examined.
