Principle of production of an acoustic hologram of the solar surface
Abstract
A procedure is described which permits point-by-point photographic recording of the complex amplitude of photospheric oscillations. Examination of such holograms in coherent light could lead to a visualization of subjacent acoustic sources. The method is based on a previous investigation by Sheeley and Bhatnagar (1971) employing Doppler photography.
