Absolute Measurement of the Solar Brightness in the Spectral Region between 100 and 500 Microns
Abstract
Summary. The solar brightness temperature at wavelengths between 110 and 500 was measured with a balloon-borne lamellar-grating interferometer. A high temperature black body served as absolute calibration source. The experimental results are compared with those of other research groups and with the empirical HSRA model. The agreement with the model is fairly good for wavelengths greater than 300 t. Key words: sun - far-infrared - interferometry - stratosphere
