Identification of NiH in the sunspot spectrum
Abstract
Photoelectric scans of the umbral spectrum in the wavelength interval 6200-6700 A are examined and positive identifications established for NiH lines. The band oscillator strengths for the A2A - X2A and B2A - X2A systems are derived, foo = 5 X I0- and 6 x I0- respectively, for an adopted dissociation energy of eV. It is also shown that the solar isotopic and terrestrial isotopic abundance ratios for Ni55 and Ni60 are probably equal.
