The supernova remnant W28.
Abstract
The 5000 MHz brightness distribution, 5000 and 2700 MHz polarization and H 109 cc recombination line observations are presented for the supernova remnant W 28. The distribution of the spectral index between 408 and 5000 MHz with high resolution clearly shows the presence of both thermal and non-thermal components in W 28. This is also demonstrated by the observations of both tbe recombination line and polarization. The magnetic field derived from the polarization observations is thought to be tangential over most of the shell. Key words: supernova remnant - radio polarization - recombination lines
