Dependence of Chromospheric Emission upon Bolometric Luminosity for the Hyades
Abstract
Fluxes in the centers of the H and K lines were measured for sixty-five Hyades stars between F4 and KS. Analysis of these measures shows that, in terms of bolometric luminosity, theradiation in the chromospheric H and K emission lines increases by a factor of 2 between B - V = 0.45 and B - V = 1.25. Other results give the emission as a function of the local continuum, as well as the true emission ratios for stars in this color range.
