The Excitation of Coronal Emission Lines as a Measure of Electron Density
Abstract
Coronal lines in the visible spectium may be classified by whether they are excited from the ground state by photospheric radiation and collisions or by collisions oniy. Since the latter disappear at low density, the peculiar behavior of several lines is explained and a density criterion obtained
