Center-To-Limb Variations of the Intensity and the Wavelength of Several Fraunhofer Lines Along the SUN's Polar and Equatorial Diameter
Abstract
The center-to-limb variations for the continuum, for two faint iron lines, and for the cores of several strong Fraunhofer lines have been measured along polar and equatorial diameters of the solar disk. A photoelectric device was used attached to the Gregory-coude' solar telescope of the University Observatory, , at Locarno. The temperature difference between the polar and the equatorial limb has been found not to exceed 6 K during August, 1965. Simultaneous recordings of the variations of the wavelength were used to determine the so-called limb effect on these lines.
