Simon Anghel

Simon Anghel is a researcher specializing in Astronomy, with an extensive background in Physics, Machine Learning, and Science Communication. His research primarily focuses on the physical properties and evolutionary processes of minor bodies such as meteoroids, comets, and asteroids. He completed his PhD at the University of Bucharest and is currently working in the Planetology group at the Astronomical Institute of the Romanian Academy. Simon has recently been awarded with a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions research fellowship at the Paris Observatory, to better understand the flux of meteoroids into Earth’s atmosphere. Asteroid 34405 Simonanghel was named in his honour.
